Is this a good month to visit?
Yes: April is one of the best months of the year in Seville, and one of the busiest. Expect warm, sunny days around 24 °C, the last of the orange blossom, and the Feria de Abril, expected in April 2027 (dates to be confirmed).

In 2027 Semana Santa falls in March, so April is free of Holy Week. That changes by year: in 2028, Semana Santa runs from 9 to 16 April.

The weather in Seville in April is close to ideal: warm afternoons, fresh mornings and long light evenings, with sunset after 20:30. Some days already pass 28 °C, while a few spring showers still pass through. The parks, especially the Parque de María Luisa around the Plaza de España, are green and in flower.

Feria de Abril
The April Fair is Seville’s great party: a week of music, horses, flamenco dresses and rebujito in a temporary town of more than a thousand striped tents (casetas) in Los Remedios. It usually starts two to three weeks after Easter. With Easter on 28 March 2027, the Feria is expected in April 2027; we will add the dates when the city confirms them.
Most casetas are private, but public ones are open to everyone. By day, riders and carriages parade through the fairground; at night people dance sevillanas until dawn. Read our Feria de Abril guide for how the casetas work and what to wear.
Orange blossom
In early April the orange trees are often still in flower, and the evenings smell of azahar. By mid-April the blossom is usually over.
The Maestranza season
The bullfighting season at the Maestranza bullring opens around Easter, and its main series of fights takes place around the Feria. You can visit the bullring and its museum without attending a fight.
Longer opening hours
From April, the Real Alcázar switches to its summer hours, 9:30 to 19:00, and the gardens are at their best in the late-afternoon light.
Crowds and hotel prices
April is high season. The Alcázar and the cathedral sell out their popular time slots: book several days ahead, a week or more around the Feria. Queues are shortest at opening time.
A double in a good central hotel typically costs around €130–250 a night. During Feria week prices rise sharply, though less than at Semana Santa. The fairground is in Los Remedios, south of Triana, so the Arenal and Triana are the most convenient bases, for example Hotel Monte Triana or Hotel Adriano in the Arenal. What to pack
- Summer clothes plus a layer: T-shirts by day, a jumper or light jacket after dark
- Sun protection: sunglasses, a hat and sun cream
- A small umbrella for the odd shower
- Comfortable shoes for long days on foot
- Something smart for the Feria: locals dress up, women often in a flamenco dress and men in a suit and tie; smart-casual is fine for visitors
