The first two weeks of September often feel like summer, with afternoons above 35 °C. In the second half, the heat usually eases, evenings are warm rather than hot, and the first short storms can arrive. It is still pool weather, and still worth keeping the hottest hours for a rest.

Bienal de Flamenco (even years)
Every two years, Seville hosts the Bienal de Flamenco, the most important flamenco festival in the world, with about a month of performances in September and October in theatres, the Real Alcázar and other historic buildings. It is held in even years: the 2026 edition runs in September and October 2026, and the next one is in 2028. The programme is published a few months before, and the best shows sell out.

Back to normal
After August, the city fills up again. Bars and restaurants that closed for holidays reopen, and schools and universities go back. For the first time since spring, eating outside in the evening is comfortable again.
Crowds and hotel prices
September is mid-season. Crowds are moderate, with more visitors in the second half. Book the Alcázar and the cathedral a few days ahead. The Alcázar keeps its summer hours, 9:30 to 19:00, until the end of the month.
