Each option in detail
The one-hour river cruise
The panoramic cruise is the most popular boat tour in Seville. Boats leave from the embarkation point beside the Torre del Oro, on the old town side of the river, roughly every 30 minutes in high season.
The route goes upstream past the Maestranza bullring, Triana and Calle Betis, under the Isabel II bridge and on towards the Expo ’92 bridges and La Cartuja, then turns back and passes the Torre del Oro again towards the Parque de María Luisa. Commentary is recorded in several languages. Sit on the open upper deck, on the Triana side for the painted houses.

- Tip: in July and August, the open deck is very hot in the afternoon. Go in the evening.
Sunset cruises
Smaller boats and catamarans run sunset trips with a glass of cava, wine or a soft drink, sometimes with music. The light on the Torre del Oro and Triana at dusk is the best of the day. Worth it as a relaxed first evening, before tapas on the other side of the river.
Private boats
For a group of friends or a family, a private boat with a skipper costs little more per person than a sunset cruise once you are six or more, and you choose the time and the route.
Kayaks and paddle boards
The stretch of the Guadalquivir that runs through Seville is a closed dock with no real current, so the water is calm. Rowing clubs train here every day. Guided kayak tours set off from the river banks and pass the Torre del Oro, Triana and the bridges, with a stop for photos. Paddle boards are for hire from some of the same companies. Go early in summer, and bring a hat and sun cream.
Rowing boats at Plaza de España
