How many days do you need?
Three nights (two full days and a bit) is right for most first visits. Seville’s main sights are close together, but the city is best enjoyed slowly, with long lunches and late evenings.
| Days | What you can do |
|---|---|
| 1 day | The Alcázar, the cathedral, Santa Cruz and Plaza de España at a fast pace |
| 2 days | All the highlights, plus Triana, the Setas and a flamenco show |
| 3 days | The highlights at an easy pace, plus palaces, museums and a river cruise |
| 4–5 days | Add one or two day trips: Córdoba, Cádiz, Ronda or Jerez |
| A week | Use Seville as a base for western Andalusia, or start a road trip |
Itineraries by length
- One day in Seville: the essentials in one well-planned day.
- Two days in Seville: the classic city break.
- Three days in Seville: our recommended plan for a first visit.
Four or five days: follow the three-day itinerary and add day trips. Córdoba is 45 minutes away by high-speed train; Cádiz is about 1 hour 45 minutes; Ronda and the white villages are best by car or on a tour. A week or more: see our Andalusia road trip.
What to book before you go
- Your hotel, especially for March to May and October. See where to stay.
- Real Alcázar tickets, for a morning slot.
- Cathedral tickets in high season.
- A flamenco show at a small venue.
Where to base yourself
Stay in Santa Cruz, the Centro or the Arenal, so every itinerary starts on foot from your door. Keep the same hotel for day trips: trains and tours leave from the centre.
FAQ
Is one day enough for Seville?
It is enough to see the Alcázar, the cathedral and Plaza de España, but you will be rushing. Try to stay at least one night: Seville is at its best in the evening.
Is Seville worth 3 days?
Yes. Three days lets you see the highlights, visit Triana and a palace or two, and enjoy the evenings without rushing.
Seville or Granada: how many days for each?
Two to three days in Seville and two in Granada is a good balance. Granada’s Alhambra needs half a day on its own and must be booked weeks ahead.
