The classic centre tour
The one to take on your first morning. It usually starts near the cathedral (Plaza Virgen de los Reyes or Plaza del Triunfo) and walks through Santa Cruz along the Alcázar walls to the Plaza de España, explaining Seville’s Roman, Moorish and Christian past, the Golden Age of trade with the Americas, and the 1929 Exposition. It does not go inside the monuments.
Triana
Triana has its own identity: Seville’s potters, sailors and many of its great flamenco artists came from here. A local guide brings out stories you would miss on your own: the Inquisition in the Castillo de San Jorge, the ceramics factories, and the neighbourhood’s own Semana Santa brotherhoods.
